The Museum will also present Fragile Demon: Juan Soriano in Mexico, 1935-1950 (February 16-May 11, 2008), the first exhibition to explore this late artist's early years and the first to be seen at a major U.S. museum. The focused exhibition and its accompanying catalogue will examine the artists contribution, placing Soriano (1920-2006) within the context of both Mexican and international art of the 1930s and 40s. Seen in Philadelphia only, the exhibition will include loans from private collections and museums in Mexico, as well as the U.S.
